New Report Issues Call to Action
The Arthur W. Page Society has published a new report, entitled The Authentic Enterprise, which draws on original CEO research along with the collective experience of a cross-section of corporate communications and academic experts. The report identifies the rapidly changing context for global business and society, examines the drivers and implications of these shifts, and proposes a set of strategic options for CEOs and other "C-suite" executives to consider in helping the enterprise successfully respond to the new realities. Specifically, the report looks at the changes in technology, globalization and stakeholder empowerment and how those changes are creating both challenges and opportunities for corporations. Among the implications for corporate communicators is the need to not only develop channels of communication, but also networks of relationships. To do this, chief communication officers must not only position, but define the corporation; not only change perceptions, but be involved in changing realities.
