New Communications Link Will Deliver Multi-Media: Messages and News Directly to PCs of Page Members

Jun 16, 2004

The Page Society has launched a new communications initiative that will enable members to receive on their desktops high quality video and multi-media communications about Society events and breaking news.

Called The Connection, the new PC-based message system uses technology developed by CABC, Inc. that creates an exclusive, secure channel for delivering Society news directly to members. The technology is being provided by CABC on a pro bono basis.

Members were sent an email on June 16 that announced the new service and provided instructions for downloading and installing the new service on their computers. Once installed, a new icon labeled "The Connection" will appear on the monitor. When a video message is sent, a small notification graphic will appear on screen with instructions for viewing.

The first communication that members will receive is a message from Tom Martin introducing the new communication tool along with a brief overview of how the service will be used. The Society plans to use this new medium to provide enhanced communications about upcoming events, special messages and other priority presentations.

The CABC technology is being used by several Page member companies to send communications to their employees.
