Eligibility Expanded For Page Society Call For Entries In Case Study Competition In Corporate Communications
Aug 08, 2003
The Arthur W. Page Society announces a call for entries to its annual Case Study Competition in Corporate Communications. The Page Society sponsors this program in alliance with the The Institute for Public Relations and the Council of Communication Management. Now in its third year, the competition's eligibility rules have been expanded to include any student enrolled in a degree program at an accredited school of business, communication or journalism.
The competition challenges students to submit original case studies focusing on how corporate communications and the practice of public relations address business problems. Cash prizes totaling $14,000 will be awarded to the authors of winning entries and their faculty advisors. In addition, the country's leading corporate communications executives will recognize the Grand Prize winners at an Awards Ceremony Dinner on April 1, 2004.
"We established this competition as part of our commitment to heighten the awareness of the value of corporate communications among future business and communications leaders and to encourage educators to expose students to the full range of communications and reputation management issues faced by organizations today," said David R. Drobis, president of the Arthur W. Page Society.
The entries will be evaluated according to criteria such as the significance of the business problem the case study addresses and the critical issues identified and explored. Judges will emphasize examining how the effective use of the Page Principles generated constructive action and support from the affected constituencies, a submission's usefulness and general value to the profession as well as its educational value.
Last year's winners included students from the Mendoza School of Business at Notre Dame, the Tuck School at Dartmouth College and the Darden School at the University of Virginia. A copy of the journal compiling these winning studies may be downloaded by clicking here.
