In a blog posting on the Barbie doll, Carol H. Rasco, president and chief executive officer of Reading Is Fundamental, Inc., America's oldest and largest nonprofit children's and family literacy organization, discusses the RIF Barbie doll which debuted in 2002. Rasco has served as senior adviser to U.S. Secretary of Education, Richard W. Riley, and as director of the America Reads Challenge, a four-year national campaign to promote the importance of all children reading well and independently by the end of the third grade. During her Barbie research, Rasco discovered the grand prize winning case study of Arthur W. Page Society's 2006 Case Study Competition, "The Barbie Case." Rasco proceeds to detail the mission of the Page Society in her post and links to the Barbie case as well as the 2009 Case Study Competition winners.
