Harvey W. Greisman

Harvey W. Greisman was appointed Group Executive, Worldwide Communications for MasterCard Worldwide in January 2006. His responsibilities include worldwide media and influencer relations, executive and employee transformational communications, public policy support, and corporate philanthropy. Mr. Greisman's functional mission is the global integration of the communications discipline to achieve breakthrough strategies that help position the MasterCard brand as a leader in advancing commerce worldwide.

Mr. Greisman joined MasterCard after spending eight years with IBM Corporation. There, he led communications for IBM Global Services and IBM Software, divisions which accounted for approximately two thirds of IBM's revenues. At IBM Global Services, he also developed an internal consulting practice to help customers better understand and communicate the transformational work IBM was helping them accomplish.

Prior to IBM, Mr. Greisman spent 16 years at GTE Corporation where he ultimately served as Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications and a member of GTE's Executive Leadership Committee. Before GTE, Greisman headed media relations for Allied Corporation (now Honeywell), and also was responsible for a new corporate identity and brand launch. Before that, he directed public relations and thought leadership programs for the United Nations Association. Mr. Greisman began his career with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

A 1970 graduate of Colgate University, Mr. Greisman co-authored "Beyond Vietnam: Public Opinion and Foreign Policy" with Justice Arthur J. Goldberg et al., which had significant impact on public policy. He has testified before Congress on foreign policy issues, and as a result was invited to the White House to exchange views with the President and other officials. He has written several articles and guides on public affairs topics including a commentary on the British electoral process, which was syndicated widely. He is an active Trustee of the Arthur W. Page Society, and has served on the boards of the Public Relations Society of America, the Institute for Public Relations, the International Churchill Society, and the United Nations Association.
