Catherine Babington is vice president, Public Affairs and president of the Abbott Fund. She joined Abbott on April 13, 1987, and has held various management positions in Corporate Marketing, Branding, Investor Relations and Public Affairs.

Prior to joining Abbott, she was with Ruder, Finn and Rotman Public Relations and the American Dietetic Association.

Babington is a trustee of the University of Dayton. She also is a member of the board of directors of the Arthur W. Page Society, Junior Achievement of Chicago and the Clara Abbott Foundation. She is a member of the Public Relations Institute.

She received a bachelor's degree from the University of Dayton and a master's degree in business administration from Loyola University of Chicago.

Babington was born in Binghamton, N.Y., on September 14, 1952 and resides in north suburban Chicago.
