As Senior Vice President of Global Communications for SAP AG, Anne McCarthy was responsible for overseeing product public relations, analyst relations and customer communications. Anne also provided communications strategy and support to the North American leadership team, specifically executive and employee communications.
Anne has 20 years of experience in corporate and agency communications. The majority of her career has been spent focusing on corporate and marketing communications for Fortune 50 corporations or large PR agencies. Over the past 15 years, she has managed large teams and executed multi-million dollar programs around the globe.
McCarthy joined SAP from E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company where she served as Vice President for employee and management communications and was responsible for managing internal communications to over 80,000 employees worldwide. Prior to that, McCarthy was Vice President of Corporate Communications at Polaroid Corporation.
Anne's communications background also includes diverse working experience in both the IT and consumer products industry. She spent four years at IBM corporations and held various senior corporate communications positions. During that time, she spent two years living in Tokyo, Japan, serving as senior communications executive for IBM's Asia Pacific region. McCarthy also has seven years of experience working in the consumer products industry at Sara Lee Corporation. As Sara Lee, she held a variety of corporate communications positions, focusing primarily on image building activities for the corporation and the company's CEO. She also spent two years based at Sara Lee's European headquarters, in the Netherlands, where she supported the European executive team.
In addition to her corporate experience, Anne served as managing director of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, leading the agency's global Corporate Practice, which focused on message development, corporate positioning, reputation management, crisis communications, financial communications and employee communications.
McCarthy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Michigan State University.
