Overview – 2008 Annual Conference

The Arthur W. Page Society’s 2008 Annual Conference will be held at the idyllic Chatham Bars Inn in Cape Cod, MA, on September 21-23, 2008. As the premier annual event for members, this is a conference that is not to be missed! And this year’s conference promises to be extra special, as it is the highlight of the Page Society’s year-long 25th anniversary celebration. The theme of this year’s event is “The Chief Communications Officer: Charting the ‘True’ Course”, reflecting the Page Principle regarding truth. The nautical theme is not only appropriate for our seaside venue in Cape Cod, but also fitting for a profession that is navigating through a business environment that is increasing daily in complexity. We’ll explore what it means to be an authentic leader, remain true to our values, build public trust, manage stakeholder expectations and embrace the technology that is redefining how we communicate. We’re in the process of finalizing an excellent lineup of sought-after speakers including CEOs, authors, representatives of NGOs, and other thought leaders. Click here for a glimpse of the agenda.

Participants will also have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the beautiful venue of this year’s event. Since 1914, Chatham Bars Inn seaside resort has been noted for its excellent service, fine cuisine and beautiful surroundings. Click here to learn more about this idyllic resort, nestled near the heart of Chatham on 25 beautifully landscaped acres overlooking Pleasant Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. In planning this year’s conference, a special effort has been made to seriously consider the environmental impact of this event – from the carbon emissions used in travel to paper choices and hotel practices. While no conference can be 100 percent “green,” we are taking extra steps to make this year’s conference eco-friendly. Stay tuned for more details about the actions we are taking to be good stewards of our natural resources.
