David Benoit covers activist investors for The Wall Street Journal. He's been a reporter for Dow Jones and the Journal since 2008, covering M&A, banking and markets. As the Journal's first reporter dedicated to activism, he has written on the biggest ongoing campaigns and tracked the trends of this surging area. He's broken ground on such campaigns as Allergan, DuPont and Darden and told detailed stories about how CEOs, boards and other investors are handling the new world. His work with colleagues breaking the merger of Dow and DuPont won a 2016 Gerald Loeb award. He was named the 2015 Business Journalist of the Year by Talking Biz News and also featured in the Newspaper Association of America's 30-under-30 list. He's a graduate of Boston College.
