Julie Hamp is Senior Vice President, Chief Communications Officer, PepsiCo – which has the world’s largest portfolio of billion-dollar food and beverage brands, including 19 different product lines that each generates more than $1 billion in annual retail sales. PepsiCo’s main businesses – Frito-Lay, Quaker, Pepsi-Cola, Tropicana and Gatorade – make hundreds of enjoyable and wholesome foods and beverages, serving consumers in more than 200 countries. With nearly $60 billion in revenue, PepsiCo employs 285,000 people worldwide.

Julie has global responsibility for PepsiCo’s external and internal communications, including corporate communications, media relations, marketing communications, digital media and consumer relations. She also is a member of PepsiCo’s Executive Committee as well as the Board of Directors of the PepsiCo Foundation.

She is especially passionate about communicating Performance with Purpose – PepsiCo’s mission to deliver sustainable growth by investing in a healthier future for the people and our planet. As part of its commitment to encourage people to live healthier, for example, PepsiCo continues to reduce sodium, fat and sugar in its products, while increasing whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and low-fat dairy. In 2010, the company announced the creation of a new Global Nutrition Group, with the goal of growing PepsiCo’s nutrition businesses from about $10 billion in revenues today to $30 billion by 2020. The company’s focus on Environmental Sustainability includes preserving water, decreasing landfill waste, increasing recycling rates, creating sustainable packaging and reducing carbon emissions.

Since joining PepsiCo in 2007, Julie has set an agenda for innovation and thought leadership in digital communications and marketing. She launched a global digital strategy, engaging stakeholders in Performance with Purpose across new media, leveraging social media to strengthen consumer connections with PepsiCo’s brands and partnering with early-stage digital start-ups to incubate new ideas. By creating new digital platforms for conversations with consumers and other constituents, PepsiCo continues to gain vital insights to help evolve its businesses.

Julie’s prior experience includes 25 years at General Motors. Leadership roles included Vice President, Communications for GM’s European region; Vice President, Communications, Saturn; General Director, Communications for Latin America, Africa and the Middle East; and General Director for GM’s brands in North America.
