Director I, NCS Public Relations and International Communications

This position is responsible for leading the public relations and international communication function for this $4.5 billion business.

As a senior communications professional in Raytheon, this individual will be responsible for media relations and marketing communications strategies for NCS level and international business initiatives and pursuits. Reporting directly to the NCS Vice President of Communications, and indirectly to the NCS Vice President of Business Development, the incumbent will work regularly with various members of the NCS leadership team and will be expected to serve as a stand-in to the NCS VP of Communications on all external communications matters.

Director I, NCS Public Relations and International Communications is responsible for leading the public relations and international communication function for this $4.5 billion business. The international market represents a significant growth area for NCS and the successful candidate will have significant international communications experience with demonstrated success in leveraging a comprehensive international communications plan to contribute to the bottom line.

This individual must work closely and collaboratively with NCS Business Development and the product line communications leaders, counsel them in their product-line specific public relation and international activities, and provide hands on-support for those efforts that have broader communications value to NCS or Raytheon as a whole. Additionally, this individual will work closely with Corporate Communications on various engagements and by representing NCS on the PR IPT.

Other important aspects of the role are to insure that the press coverage metrics program is maintained or enhanced; that the business is well-prepared to manage crisis situations from a media relations perspective; and, that the business leaders are aware of significant press coverage about, and relevant to, the NCS business.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in all communications disciplines, including; PR, advertising, marketing, and organizational communications.
  • 10 years of international communications experience with a demonstrated understanding of the Middle East and Asian markets.
  • Proven experience developing strategic communications plans and determining most effective communications tools including print, electronic, and face-to-face.
  • Demonstrated experience working with executive leadership, able to serve as a strategic advisor on all communications matters.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Capacity to grow into positions of increased responsibility within the organization.
  • Ability to communicate to multiple, diverse audiences at all levels of the organizations.
  • Collaborate, partner with and advise managers on department communications issues.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving dynamic environment.
  • Must reflect self confidence, passion and engagement through personal communications behaviors.
  • Consistent track record at achieving results. Team player and collaborator.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a high level of service to clients while maintaining course on achieving organizational goals.
  • Experience in a DOD and/or Government Agency environment.
  • Bachelor of Science in Communications, Business, Public Relations, Organizational Communications or related discipline.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience managing, coaching, and developing communications professionals.
  • Masters Degree in Communications, Business, Public Relations, Organizational Communications or related discipline
